My Teaching Philosophy
I believe a reflective teacher is an effective teacher. At the end of every day,
teachers should reflect on whether or not they did what was best for their
students that day. A reflective teacher questions him/herself, learns from
his/her mistakes and challenges him/herself to be better. Lessons should be
student-focused because the individual doing the work is the one doing the
learning. I work to create engaging and hands-on lessons based on students’
needs, interests and prior learning. My goal is to educate the whole
child. I strive to be a creative and caring teacher who challenges every child
to recognize their strengths and reach their full potential. Ultimately, I want
to inspire my students to be life-long learners who possess the skills needed to
be considerate, responsible, knowledgeable and successful members of society.
